February 8th, 2010Create Beautiful Moments with Charm Bracelets
Our mom passed away when I was five years old. I was able to vaguely recall her picture, nor do I have any remembrance of the moment we spent with each other but one thing is crystal clear I will always honor her in my spirit for the charm bracelets that she gifted me and my sister the week she got ill and got confined at the hospital. These charm bracelets have gotten my sister and I with a lot or difficult events. We’ve relocated from several neighborhoods and have had a fresh start like nobody’s business but took it all realizing that we had our momma by our side was what made it worth-it. We never felt alone because of gold charm bracelets.
I can still remember when I punched another girl in the nose during my grammar school days because she tried to scam for my charm bracelet. Her unforgettable name has been forgotten by me. She was the regular class mean girl and I was the new student, from Texas in one of our new beginning moves. She spotted my bracelet and inquired where I got it from. When I shared it was from my mommy she told me that the only reason she asked was since it looked so fake.
I believed the day couldn’t get any uglier but when free period came she tried the most nasty thing. She tried to pull the bracelet from my wrist. She said she was grossed out the charms of my charm bracelet so I had to dispose of it, which was right before I got angry and jabbed her in the nose, twice. Needless to say after multiple parent teacher conferences my father rose to my position and backed up my behavior. I understand it’s not right to brawl with your peers but losing the mickey mouse charm bracelet seemed to be something that I can in no way live with out.
